BRT Extrusions – Extrusions Shift Supervisor
BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is looking for an experienced Shift Supervisor from the Extrusions or Manufacturing industry to manage a shift in our Extrusions Department.
Extrusions Supervisor Overview:
BRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is a growing aluminum extruder. As we grow, our employees and opportunities do as well. BRT offers generous compensation package to our plant/shift supervisors. BRT Extrusions is looking for a motivated Extrusion Supervisor. Duties of the Extrusion Supervisor include, but are not limited to, supervising a crew of up to 7 employees on an extrusion press, check extrusions per work instructions and die prints, and train new employees on best practices. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an extrusion/manufacturing supervisor, be able to use measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers) or be trained to do so and have above average math skills. A successful Extrusion Supervisor will manage a press and its crew to help BRT Extrusions and all employees here grow and progress in the fast-paced environment of manufacturing.
The Extrusions Supervisor will:
• Supervise a crew of up to 7 employees on a specific press, ensuring proper processes/safety protocol are followed.
• Handle employee attendance challenges and employee conflict and performance management.
• Direct, train, coach and develop hourly team members, including providing frequent and constructive feedback, recognizing good performance and addressing performance issues.
• Ensure a safe work environment through education and training, promoting safety awareness and accountability, and identifying and addressing potential hazards.
• Use BRT’s production system EPICS to record production throughout the shift and the completion of orders.
• Be responsible for reporting any safety incidents/accidents or maintenance challenges to the appropriate contact.
• Collaborate closely with the Press Operator to oversee and assist with die changes, press start-ups, shutdowns, and any challenges.
• Provide operational coverage during scheduled breaks to ensure seamless workflow and maintain production efficiency.
• Operate industrial vehicles and equipment.
• Move product and/or materials manually as required.
• Comply with all Company policies and ensure employees do the same.
• This position will often use Microsoft outlook and other applications to communicate with staff and management.
Requirements of the Extrusion Supervisor:
• Must have a minimum of 3-year experience as an extrusions/manufacturing supervisor.
• Must be familiar with extrusions and operating an extrusion press. (We will train this position on our company procedures and processes)
• Must be patient and have people management skills.
• Must be 18 years of age to work in the plant.
• Must be able to work varying shifts if needed to cover vacation and sick days for other extrusion department supervisors.
• Be reliable and have good attendance.
• Must have ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing and to understand basic instructions in English.
• Must have better than average math skills as this position will read die prints and use measuring tools: tape measures, protractors, micrometers, calipers. (We will train if needed)
• Must be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. This includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.
Physical requirements for the Extrusions Supervisor:
This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperatures can fluctuate from hot to cold and the noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, turn, climb, and push/pull frequently. With proper safety equipment, an individual in this role may work above ground level (off the ground) occasionally. An individual in this role will need to be always aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role must move 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally. An individual in this role will remain stationary and move about the factory as needed per essential duties of the position. An individual in this role will be an effective communicator verbally and in writing, and this role requires individuals to read, follow and give written procedures to employees with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education:
HS Diploma/GED required
